Choosing a swap service for a smart-contract wallet

Smart-account support must cover signatures, approvals and the selected order type. An API capability does not prove every retail interface exposes it.

A smart wallet needs more than a supported network and a Connect button. The swap product must accept the account’s authorization method and any setup actions needed by the selected order. Evaluate the account and execution mode together.

For example, CoW Swap’s wallet guide includes Safe and discusses ERC-1271 contract signatures. Its native-token guide nevertheless gives different options and restrictions for smart-contract wallets. Support at the protocol level does not flatten those product differences.

Build a small compatibility record

QuestionWhy it changes selection
Can this account sign the order?Contract signatures and externally owned account signatures differ
Can required approval be completed?A token’s permit path may not support the account
Does the native-asset flow work?A wrapper or deposit path may have interface restrictions
Can co-signers finish before expiry?Proposal creation does not mean execution authorization is complete

CoW’s TWAP guide makes the last distinction concrete for Safe: a proposed transaction still requires the necessary signatures. A product can fit the strategy but fail the team’s operational timing.

Read recent support changes narrowly

OKX’s July 29, 2026 changelog adds EIP-1271 to its Intent Swap API. That is evidence about the API’s signature support. It is not proof that every OKX retail screen, chain or integrated wallet combination implements the capability.

Ask the application to identify its supported account types and mode. If only an ordinary transaction path works, compare that path on its actual costs and controls; do not describe it as the same gasless offer. Choose the product whose full authorization and completion workflow matches the account you control.
