Fix a swap problem

Explorer says confirmed but my wallet still says pending

Resolve disagreement between a wallet’s pending label and a confirmed explorer transaction without submitting a duplicate swap.

If the correct transaction has a confirmed receipt on the correct chain, an old “pending” label in your wallet is a display or synchronization problem. Do not pay to accelerate a transaction that already executed.

Make sure the records match

Compare the full hash, sender and network. A replacement transaction has a different hash even when it uses the same nonce. Your wallet may show the original request while the explorer points to the replacement.

Read the receipt result next. Confirmation means inclusion, not necessarily a successful trade. The receipt-status standard distinguishes top-level success from failure. Check the output token balance and recipient when the result is successful.

Refresh local state in a measured order

  1. Save the confirmed hash and the replacement relationship, if any.
  2. Refresh the application and reopen the wallet.
  3. Confirm the selected account and network still match the transaction.
  4. Follow the wallet’s current official troubleshooting guidance if the stale label persists.

Clearing activity data is not a blockchain repair. MetaMask describes it as removal of local transaction history and nonce information, and recommends support-directed use. It does not undo an executed swap.

The distinction matters when a later transaction is blocked. If the earlier nonce really confirmed, the remaining issue may be local account state or another unresolved nonce. If you only looked at a similarly timed transaction, the original problem may still be pending. Confirming identity first avoids turning a display issue into a duplicate trade.
