MetaMask Swaps is the wallet’s own quote interface, available in Extension and Mobile. Connecting MetaMask to another aggregator website is a different product choice: MetaMask supplies the wallet, while that website presents the trade.
The current user guide describes MetaMask as an information aggregator and lists a 0.875% MetaMask fee, alongside the exchange rate and network cost. BNB Chain is among its supported networks. These facts were checked September 24, 2026; they do not establish that every external dApp transaction signed with MetaMask carries that fee.
Same button, different delivery
Cross-chain transfers now use the Swap interface too: select both source and destination networks. The guide names LI.FI and Socket among aggregation sources and several bridge providers. A wallet-branded confirmation therefore does not remove the selected bridge’s role.
For a same-chain BNB trade, assess the output after the wallet fee and required BNB. For a cross-chain trade, also identify the bridge and destination asset. Compare it with another route offering the same delivery, not simply another token with the same ticker.
Gasless needs its own eligibility check
MetaMask documents gasless swaps on selected networks including BNB, with settings and version requirements. Where eligible, the quote includes the gas cost. This changes how gas is funded; it does not erase its economic cost or promise eligibility for every token.
Before confirming, inspect the selected account, networks, receive amount and any remaining approval. If you used an external aggregator site, retain that site’s order reference. MetaMask’s support guide explicitly scopes its swap support to the built-in Swaps feature, while directing external-platform users toward that platform.
This makes the choice concrete: use the embedded flow if its delivered terms and convenience fit, or compare a connected dApp with the same account. The signing wallet alone is not enough to identify the service responsible for the quote.
