Wallet swap fees: inspect the service layer before signing

Wallet swap fees vary by product and eligible pair. This dated comparison separates service fees from the delivered trading result.

A built-in wallet swap can add a service fee to the execution costs of its providers. That fee can also be waived for specific pairs. Comparing wallets with one permanent percentage per brand hides these exceptions.

The following official schedules were checked September 24, 2026. They describe the wallet service layer, not a tested ranking of net output.

InterfacePublished service-fee treatmentImportant qualification
MetaMask Swaps0.875%Network cost is a separate cost component
Rabby Swap0.25%, included in quoteEligible same-chain groups have the Rabby fee waived
Phantom0.85% on most swapsSpecified exceptions; bridge fee presentation requires inspection
Coinbase Wallet/Base DEX flowUp to 1%Aggregator fees may also be reflected in output
Uniswap Labs wallet/interface0% interface feePool and network costs remain

See the official schedules for MetaMask, Rabby, Phantom, Coinbase and Uniswap Labs.

Use the percentages without double-counting

If a quote says you receive a net amount, do not subtract the displayed service fee again. Add only costs that the quote excludes and that you must separately pay. Likewise, a gasless quote may recover gas through output rather than through a visible native-token payment.

For an illustrative 1,000-unit notional, a 0.25% service fee corresponds to 2.5 units before considering the fee’s actual denomination. That arithmetic does not predict which wallet delivers more tokens: routes and liquidity can differ.

Decide whether convenience earns its cost

Compare the embedded quote with an external application using the same account, network, token contracts and amount. Retain the receiving minimum and any extra approval requirement. A lower service percentage is useful evidence, but the decision concerns the complete trade and workflow. It should not require moving keys to another wallet merely to view an alternative quote.
