BNB shown in a staking dashboard is not necessarily available to a swap. Native BNB in the account, delegated stake and amounts waiting to be claimed represent different stages. A portfolio's combined valuation does not make all of them immediately spendable.
The BSC staking guide documents delegation, undelegation and claiming as separate actions. It also explains staking credits associated with validators. Those credits are nontransferable accounting shares, not an ordinary liquid token to paste into a DEX form.
Identify the stage before requesting a quote
| Balance shown | Meaning for a native-BNB swap |
|---|---|
| Liquid native BNB | Potential input, after reserving transaction fees. |
| Delegated stake | Must follow the staking exit process first. |
| Undelegating amount | Subject to the applicable waiting and claim process. |
| Claimed BNB in the account | Can enter a new spending budget. |
Read the current staking interface for the claimable time and amount. Initiating an exit does not mean the BNB has already returned to the wallet. Avoid setting up a time-sensitive trade using a balance that is still unavailable.
Liquid staking adds a different asset
Third-party products can issue transferable tokens such as slisBNB. Lista's documentation describes slisBNB's relationship to staked BNB. Holding such a token creates a different choice: sell the token in a market or use its protocol exit.
That does not make native staking credits interchangeable with slisBNB, nor does it mean one unit of every staking token equals one BNB. Read the specific token's conversion rules and current exit conditions.
For a planned native-BNB swap, count the amount only once it is actually liquid in the executing account. Keep the gas needed to complete the exit and trade outside the delegated amount when planning ahead.
